Commemorative Issue 201101 - 15th Anniversary of the May 8th Revolution

RC 201105 15th Anniversary of the May 8th Revolution

The May 2011 issue by Capricornia Post is dedicated to an historic event in the former Rajakratija tal Musograd, the "Red Parramatta Revolution", which, in its final consequences, led to the foundation of the Republic of Capricornia. In February 1996, the ruling "Parramatta" alliance of military officers broke up and King Michail Tchernikoff, ruler of the "Respublika tal Musograd" and head of the Nationalist faction, was disposed. The split was caused by the feeling that the Nationalists were not really dedicated to the "Australija settlement" policy. The Leftist officers known as "Red Parramatta" assumed power, and on 1996.05.08, they declared the "Musogradij Respublike".

The image displayed on the stamp is derived from a photo taken on the first Australija Expedition in 1993. A red dog in a "No dogs allowed" sign, converted irreverently into a Tasmanian Tiger on a skateboard, symbolizes the accelerated Australija settlement process. Although finally, the Australija policy was given up in 2002, their proponents were able to find a new identity in the 2003-2006 rebellion which led to the foundation of the Republic of Capricornia.
